We welcome you to the ever evolving website for the Thelemic Order and Sanctuary of Thoth. 

We have several announcements.

First, we pose some questions.  What is it that we can do to assist you in learning the Royal Art & Science of Magick?  How can we assist you with your Initiation?  How can the Sanctuary be of help to you in your Great Work?  At the Sanctuary, we offer free services to sincere aspirants and magickal formulae on a “silver platter" (both through the papers offered below and in our correspondence with aspirants).  The True Keys to Initiation are available to you, if you seek to grasp and use them.  Here is the dilemma.  Even with all this available, so few want to make the effort to undertake and follow through on the Initiation Process.  There is plenty of interest in magick, many “dabblers” but how few actually dedicate themselves to the Work?!  We want to hear from you.  Ask your God how you may be inspired to undertake, perform and accomplish your Great Work.  What inspiration or information do you need?  Tell us your thoughts.  Write to us.  We Call to you for your input so the Services of the Sanctuary may be most effective, and more Children may attain.

Second, we have posted to the following link the newest paper entitled The Auguries from the 2009 Vernal Equinox Ritual (Including a discussion of the Supreme Ritual & Sex Magick).   This provides a Qabalistic analysis and discussion of the Auguries received during the 2009 Vernal Equinox Celebration performed at the Sanctuary, and speaks of a Great Period of Initiation which is to occur between May 11, 2009 and June 11, 2009.  You are encouraged to review this paper for the guidance which is offered, and hear the Call to Action.  May you be so moved.

Third, a mass of new material has been received since late last year which supplements and expands upon what is offered on this website.  The new material has  been compiled (with the other material below) into a book, which has been submitted for publication, all as guided.  We will be keep you updated as to status in this regard.

New papers are always being formulated in furtherance of the Work.  Future announcements as to new posts, etc. will be made in this Introduction section so periodically check back for new information.

THE SANCTUARY'S SYSTEM OF INITIATION

The Sanctuary's System of Initiation is based on a series of Oaths of Initiation, some relating to the Sephiroth, and others relating to the Paths, on the Qabalistic Tree of Life.  These are discussed in the Guide to the Oaths of Initiation, which tells a story of Initiation (and, for this reason, is best to be read in its entirety).  The Guide also provides fairly detailed information on how to structure your work using the Oaths of Initiation.  These are designed to be used in tandem with the Ritual of the Stars, which is an evolved (and evolving) form of ritual described in the Scroll of the Ritual of the Stars.  The fundamentals of the Sanctuary's System of Initiation are set forth in the following documents, which are given for your information and use:

You are encouraged to review all four of these files, and begin using the Sanctuary's System of Initiation if it appeals to you.  It is the basis of all magickal, mystical and initiatory work through the Sanctuary.  Alternatively, may this information assist you on the Royal Path of Initiation no matter what System of Initiation you use.

In offering this System of Initiation, we seek to reach and initiate more Children than have thus far been reached by other magickal orders and religious establishments which have previously manifested.  We are guided that this can be done by dispensing with some old ways, and bringing in a fresh approach which is more in tune with our times.  Our Work is to assist with the magickal, spiritual and material evolution of the human race by providing an Approach to Initiation which is healthy, balanced and focused, and usable by all no matter what religious background you may have or come from.

May the information available on this website, and our work through the Sanctuary of Thoth, assist you in evolving as a source of Light and Love to others and the entire Universe.  And so do we heal the human race and accomplish the Great Work of Thelema here on Earth and throughout the Planes, ever to the Glory of God!

The following expand upon the Sanctuary's System of Initiation, and given for your information and use in the Great Work:

Ritual of the Crown. 
This simple ritual is for use by all on the Way of Return, and contains important magickal formulae concerning the Natal Crown.  The importance of this paper in the context of the teachings of the Sanctuary cannot be over-emphasized.

 A Charge (Applied in the context of preparing some Incense).
The Spell given in this paper is adaptable for many purposes.  It is designed to teach aspirants how to rightly project energy.  You are encouraged to use and adapt the Charge as appropriate in your Great Work.

Scroll of the Pentagram Formulae for the First Order.
This Scroll describes the Pentagram Formulae for the First Order, and provides detailed Pentagram Rituals evolved in the context of the Ritual of the Stars designed to assist aspirants in completing the Work of the First Order at all phrases of the Work.  A simplified Banishing Earth Pentagram Ritual is given to the Childe of Earth.  Specific Pentagram Rituals are then given to work with each element, and aspects of each element.  Finally, a new approach to the Pentagram Formulae for the Dominis Liminis is set forth.  This Scroll also gives insight into Elemental Work on the Higher Planes.  You are encouraged to review this Scroll for informational purposes and to use the formulae from an initiatory perspective.  The new formulae are designed to be more useable than rituals of "old" by all Children of the Goddess.

Rites of Initiation (For the Sephiroth).
This paper provides a simple formula to assist you in constructing your own Holy Rites of Initiation into the Sephiroth using what has been given below.  May this assist you along the Way of Return.

A Note Regarding the Hexagram Formulae for the First and Second Orders.
This paper supplements the guidance provided in the other papers available on this website as to right use of the Hexagram Formulae by Members of the First and Second Orders. 

Spirit's Journey into Manifestation.
 This paper tells a story from the Atu of Thoth, and sheds Light on the Oaths of Initiation for the Paths.  May this paper assist your Eye opening to the ever-present Glory of God. 

The Face of Spirit (Given in the context of the Thelemic Pantheon).
This paper provide further insight into Spirit's Journey into Manifestation, and the True Nature of the Universe.

The Unveiling of Nuit - The Star Goddess (The Mother of All in the context of the Thelemic Pantheon).
This paper reveals Nuit as the One True God and the True Hierophant of this New Aeon.  A post-script was subsequently added on December 18, 2008 e.v. declaring "LA" (not "AL") to be the True Key to the Book of the Law based on the proof given in this paper. 

The Blade & The Chalice (Revealed in the context of the Thelemic Pantheon).
This paper speaks of the Ancient Holy Symbols of the Blade and the Chalice, of the Ancient Holy Tree of Life called Ydgrasil and of the Secret of the Holy Grail.

A Ritual to Celebrate the Festival of the Equinox.
This is one of the original papers expanding upon the Sanctuary's System of Initiation.   It offers a ritual (and related guidance) to celebrate the Festival of the Equinox on every Vernal and Autumnal Equinox.  You are encouraged to review this paper for magickal formulae, and to perform the Ritual when appropriate.

THE SANCTUARY OF THOTH

The Sanctuary of Thoth is a Portal of Initiation into the Great Order of the Universe, where Magick lives not in faith but in certainty!  We practice the Hermetic sciences, and assist others in learning the Royal Art and Science of Magick to perform and accomplish their Great Work.

    Why Thoth? Our response is who else is more appropriate given our goals.  Thoth, Hermes or Mercury is the winged and vital intelligence of the Gods.   He is the Fool, the Magus and the Hermit.  He is the Wisdom of the Creator, the Logos or the Word.  Being divine thought itself, he transcends all bounds of time and space.  He is also the Master of Magick, and the patron of all those who seek to develop and ascend magickally and spiritually. 

We cherish and adore the Great Goddess Nuit, as the One True God and the True Hierophant of this New Aeon.  There is No-God, No-One, No-Thing but Her.  All are aspects of Her, our Beloved Lady of the Stars.  We are Her Children.  The Sanctuary assists in the evolution and healing of Her Children.

So much information is available to us.  We attempt to sift through this information at the Sanctuary of Thoth, and work with the true "keys" to understanding Magick and Initiation.  Our practices are Thelemic, Enochian, Solomonic and Wiccan.  We also recommend tantrik yoga practices, as well as the teachings of such illuminated texts as the I-Ching, the Tao-Te Ching, the Bhagavad Gita and the Upanishads (among others).

We work with many Systems of Initiation concentrated into one.  Here is where the hard work begins. To even begin to develop magickally or spiritually, an aspirant must go through a purification process.  This is easier said than done.  (We speak from experience!)  For how can you command anything if you are not in control of yourself?  So much can be learned if we just stop and listen.  Therein is great Mystery!  Learning basic meditative practices is a must.  If we combine these skills with the ritual practices of the Sanctuary, they help provide a practical and balanced System of Initiation.

      The practice of Magick inherently requires a deep understanding of Astrology (not for purposes of divination, but to understand the energies available to work with in our rites).  Understanding Astrology is also necessary to truly understand Tarot.  The teachings of the Tarot, or the Book of Thoth, are yet another true "key" which we work with at the Sanctuary of Thoth (not for purposes of divination, but as a part of the System of Initiation we offer).

        The Sanctuary of Thoth is located near Albany, New York, and offers ceremonial initiations and other services to serious aspirants of the Great Work.  Members of the Sanctuary of Thoth are not required to contribute membership dues or donations, and there are no charges for initiations or for any other services offered by the Sanctuary.  Membership in the Sanctuary is entirely free.

    The Sanctuary of Thoth is humbly operated by ACh LA (Brian Goldstein).

ACh LA ("ACh" means Brother) is part of a magickal lineage from Aleister Crowley.  The Sanctuary of Thoth was originally established under the Thelemic Order of the Golden Dawn (Order of the T.·.G.·.D.·.), which our Brother served as Hierophant for several years.   The Sanctuary continues to evolve as an independent Portal of Initiation into the Great Order of the Universe, in furtherance of the Great Work of Thelema.

Our Brother was also a Priest of the Coven of Akhelarre in Salem, Massachusetts, which trains and initiates Priests and Priestesses in the Alexandrian/Gardnerian/Celtic and hereditary lineages of British Traditional Witchcraft.  Azaradel and Lady Zara are the High Priest and High Priestess of the Coven of Akhelarre.  Our Brother and his wife were legally hand-fasted by Lady Zara and Azaradel on the evening of the New Moon on February 20, 2004 e.v.    

Our Brother lives just outside of Albany, New York with his wife and three beautiful children.  He is a lawyer by profession.

MEMBERSHIP

A Childe who is 18 years of age or older may apply for Membership in the Sanctuary. 

To apply for membership, simply send an email message to the address given above.  Please include in your email your legal name and date of birth, an email and regular mailing address, and a telephone number (if you would like to be contacted by telephone).   If you have already taken an Oath of Initiation (using the Sanctuary's System of Initiation or any other System of Initiation), please describe your progress in relation to the Oath.  Please also explain in your email why you are applying for membership. 

Applications will be accepted as so moved by the Goddess.  If your application is accepted, you will be contacted in all due course.  If you have applied for membership and have not received a response after a Solar Cycle or two (it takes time to process applications), you are encouraged to reapply after waiting for a period.

Ceremonial initiation will be offered to sincere aspirants of the Great Work.  If you are interested in ceremonial initiation, please let us know.

Of course, aspirants may use the Sanctuary's System of Initiation without applying for membership or becoming Members.

All Children of our Great Goddess Nuit are encouraged to review the information available on this website to assist in their Great Work.
