A CHARGE
(Applied in the context of preparing
some Incense)

The following example of a charge may assist you in performing the Great Work. It may be adapted for many uses.
The charge given below is applied
in the context of preparing some incense.
This may be performed in or out of the
The charge furthers your Great Work
and prepares an offering of love and devotion to the Most High. The incense, once prepared, may be burnt in
or out of the
When you are ready, hold the incense upon high, see the Sphere erect around you as a flaming Jewel of Light, and say:
Hallow be Thy incense that we offer here today.
May all spirits of the world of phantasm depart.
May only love and joy enter therein.
Wherefore, I do bless, consecrate and charge thee,
To draw into thee, the most beneficial, powerful and correct energies
To assist us in performing the Great Work of the Universe here today.
May our work truly bring harmony and love to the Universe.
May it inspire the Children of Earth
To apply themselves in freedom to the Great Work,
To seek out their starry heritage,
And to take the first step on the Royal Path of Initiation.
And once on that
Path,
May they be empowered, blessed and protected in the work,
Out of our Love for them,
And may they come to understand the loving embrace of their Holy Guardian Angel.
And so shall we assist with the Great Work of a New Creation.
And so shall we assist in undoing the Wrong of the Beginning.
Such high and noble tasks,
THE HOLY
May we prosecute this Great Work of the Universe, my Lord,
Through my own work.
May I, as Thy Childe, develop magickally and spiritually
To my utmost maximum, beneficial and correct potential,
And in the most beneficial, powerful, correct and efficient way,
So that my work may be True,
And I may serve Thee ever so rightly in the various roles that have been appointed.
In this regard, may thou open this Childe’s Eye unto the Mysteries,
And permit this Childe to equilibrate the Energies,
[state the focus of your work for the Magickal Day, noting whether it is a grade work or tarot day].
May this assist this Childe in being Initiated into the Mysteries,
and Equilibrating the Energies,
[if today is a grade work day, focus here on the tarot work, and vice versa].
May this work be Crowned and Blessed
By Heru-Ra-Ha and by Thoth, as Scribe and Magician to the Gods.
May this work be further Crowned and Blessed
by our Lady Babylon,
by this Childe’s Holy Guardian Angel[1],
And by
[state the Divine Hierarchy of the Sephira corresponding to the Magickal Day]
On this Magickal Day of
[insert the Name of the Planet corresponding to the Magickal Day].
May these energies nurture the seeds planted on the beginning of this Lunar Cycle,[2]
So they may grow magickally, spiritually and materially
To their utmost, maximum, beneficial and correct potential,
And in the most beneficial, powerful, correct and efficient way.
May these energies lustrate past seeds, healing the Womb of the Goddess,
And assist this Childe in attaining the most exalted states of seedless samadhi and kaivalya.
May these energies supplement, balance and correct
The other energies and spells we have placed into action,
And may the other energies and spells we have placed into action,
Supplement, balance and correct these energies,
Each making each other stronger,
Like the Serpents on the Caduceus,
As they intertwine, counter-balance and assist each other,
As they ascend magickally and spiritually up the Qabalistic Tree of Life.
May these incense contain such qualities and attributes
To be ever so pleasing to the Holy Names spoken and adored here today.
[If the Lunar or Solar Cycle is Waning, say:]
May any obstacles, impediments or adversaries
To these high and noble goals
Be overcome and, to the extent necessary, banished,
Harming no one on the way.
In no way shall these spells reverse,
Or cast upon anyone any curse.
So mote it be!

Closing Note: Once the charge is complete, cense your Sphere as appropriate with the sweet smell of the incense and the energy released while the offering is burnt.
