Do what thou Wilt shall be the
whole of the Law.
A Ritual to Celebrate the Festival of the Equinox was performed by ACh LA (Brian Goldstein) on behalf of the Children of Earth at the Sanctuary of Thoth shortly after Sol entered Libra in Anno IVxvii (105) in this New Aeon of Horus (September 22, 2009).[1] This paper provides an analysis of the Auguries received during the Ritual, and related discourse, to assist all of Nuit’s Children in their Holy Work.
The Word of the Equinox: “the” from Chapter II, Verse 9 of Liber Legis (II:9).
The entire verse from II:9 reads as follows – “Remember all ye that existence is pure joy; that all the sorrows are but as shadows; they pass & are done; but there is that which remains.” This reveals Mystery. The verse was spoken by our Lord Hadit in the Revelation of Nuit. Here, the Word “the” (italicized and underlined in the quoted language) references the “sorrows”.
In Hebrew, the Word “the” would be spelled Tau (as “Th” - 400) and Heh (as “e” – 5), thus adding to 405. Another word with the same enumeration is ShPKH, which references the Phallus and the Spirit of God.
The number 405 reduces down to 9 (4 + 0 + 5), which is 3 squared, a reference to the Goddess extended through the Magickal Planes, and 9 – Yesod and the Moon.
The message of the Auguries begins to unfold. The Childe’s Eye is opened to the True Nature of Being. Existence is beheld as an event of Pure Joy in the Body and Glory of the Gods. The “sorrows” are the ordeals we experience in our human lives, which serve certain purposes. These are transient in Nature, experienced as a Childe is so moved by the Spirit of God, which is the Phallus, Hadit, abiding in the heart of man.
The Magickal Operations of Nuit and
Hadit throughout the Planes and in the Children of Earth are referenced. Their
We are Spiritual Beings living human lives in these fleshy vessels, not human beings clamoring for a spiritual life. The Mysteries of the Tarot Cards entitled Death (Atu XIII) and the Hanged Man (Atu XII) are alluded to above (among others). It is through the initially perceived human offering of the human heart and soul to the Gods that the Eye is first opened to these Mysteries, as a Childe Aspires to the Knowledge and Conversation of the Holy Guardian Angel and the Higher Planes. The sorrows inspire a course to the One End, where there are no sorrows, only Pure Joy in the Body of Nuit.
Tarot Card for the Equinox: The 6 of Swords.
This small card references Tiphareth and the element of Air, so appropriate as we commence the Air Tide with the Autumnal Equinox (when Sol entered Libra – the cardinal sign of Air). Tiphareth is the Son - Vau Tetragrammaton, issuing forth by the Crown from the Light of Love of His Supernal Father and Mother. The Son is perfectly balanced on the Tree of Life, and directly nurtured from all above. The Son appears as the Holy Guardian Angel, who moves all who are of the First and Second Orders. He is the Spirit of God in Action below the Abyss, the Spiritual Phallus first appearing as His Father. Having moved further into manifestation, He is the Ruach – the Mind, symbolized by the Hexagram or Six-Rayed Star. The Rosy Cross is also referenced here. All point to the Divinity abiding in the Aspirant. Although the human mind appears to be under the Aspirant’s control, let this illusion be dispelled. Our minds are tools used by the Divine to move us in accord with Divine Will. We express the Liberty of God here on Earth, and all the other Glories of Thelema. Let, therefore, your mind be purified and consecrated to the Great Work. Offer your mind to your Gods, so your mind may be refined and honed to better serve your Gods.
To further this process, consider performing the following operation (repeatedly):
· Focus the Eye on the Natal Crown, taking notice of how brightly the spectrum shines about the Crown.
· Be Silent.
· Close the doors to the soul, applying the Pentagram Formula as you know how.
· Place the mind (visualized as the brain) in the heart.
o For those of the First and Second Orders, this is in the place of Tiphareth on the embodied Tree of Life, which is the righteous position of the Ruach.
o For those of the Third Order, this is in the center of the void in the place of the chest, which is marked by the Sigil of Aemeth and Illumined by the Fire of Hadit, shining as the Invisible Sun of Kether.
· Now breathe into the empty head, taking notice of the Natal Crown which sits upon it, and let the head be filled with the Breath of God. Yea, Breathe deeply, and see the Breath swirl with each inhalation and exhalation.

In silent speech, speak the Holy Name “Nuit”
(“Nu” with the inhalation and “it” (pronounced “eat”) with the exhalation.) or,
if you prefer, the Holy Word -
· See with thy Eye the Holy Work being accomplished. Let the mind be purified and consecrated by the Holy Light where the brain has been visually placed, and the head be filled with starry visions of the Universe and your Great Work.
The Work up through the Second Order is to purify the Ruach until the Virgin Daughter is produced and the purified Ruach Becomes that of the Elohim. This aspect of the Work is in tune with the Tides and is being encouraged by the Auguries so more Children evolve and come to the Blessed State of Understanding. In the process, may you obtain Vision and Wisdom, and the Love which abides yet even Higher.
I-Ching Hexagram for the Equinox: The 58th Hexagram, Tui / The Joyous Lake (the Joyous Lake above and the Joyous Lake below), changing into the 10th Hexagram, Lu/Treading [Conduct] (the Creative/Heaven above and the Joyous Lake below).
The 58th Hexagram
references Divine Joy expressed through the Children of Earth. What a beautiful connection to the Word of
the Equinox. To make the most of our
time here on Earth, and evolve to our most beneficial and correct potential, we
are reminded here to hold strong to Truth and our Holy Duties, to serve the
Gods in all that they do, in every thought, word and deed. Whether you are eating, drinking, working or
sleeping, do so for the God which moves you.
These are the only True offerings, being of Love and Devotion. This is the right attitude towards your Holy
life. The Eye must remain focused on the
Crown and your Holy Duties in and out of the
The changing line at the top warns of seductive pleasures, which can divert the Eye of the Childe from the Work.[2] Let there be no distractions or dispersion of the Holy Prana. All pleasures can be appreciated in the proper context. In this way, the pleasures are experienced as offerings to the Gods, and the Aspirant stays the Chosen Course, which is always Righteous.
The 10th Hexagram appears again in the Auguries (also having appeared in the Auguries from the 2009 Vernal Equinox Ritual). Here, we see the Father above and the Youngest Daughter below, the Daughter moving to the Father, and the Father leading the Way. Maintaining the right attitude spoken of above can be difficult at times but leads to great progress and assists in bringing Divine Joy into your life.
Let your Eye be open to the Truth as to the Nature of your Being. Focus your Eye upon the Crown. Purify and consecrate your mind to the Great Work. Offer all that you are and do to your God. Perform ever so diligently your Holy Work, and allow the sorrows to pass and be done. Then behold that which remains, Divine Existence here on Earth, and the Joy of the Gods.[3] Unto Thee Nuit!!!

[1] The Ritual performed at the Sanctuary was similar to the ritual given in the paper entitled “A Ritual to Celebrate the Festival of the Equinox” found on the Sanctuary’ website, except it was adapted to the Magickal Formulae corresponding with Ygdrasil (spoken of in other papers of the Sanctuary).
[2] As noted in other papers issued through the Sanctuary, the only choice given to a Childe is how to focus the Eye to set the Pentagram aright within the Sphere of the Childe. If the Eye is rightly focused and the Pentagram is set aright, the Angels, yea God, teacheth. If the Pentagram is averse, the demons teacheth. You choose! This footnote should also help clarify some of the other comments made in the text preceding this footnote.
