2010 AUTUMNAL EQUINOX RITUAL
(The Revelation of the Nos Astrum - The Holy Fourth Order)

Do what thou Wilt shall be the
whole of the Law.
The Calls of the 1st and 10th Enochian Keys were made to close the Water Tide and open the Air Tide. A Ritual to Celebrate the Festival of the Equinox was then performed at the Sanctuary of Thoth by Frater N·.·A.·. (Brian Goldstein) on behalf of all Nu’s Children shortly after Sol entered Libra, commencing the Air Tide in Anno IVxviii (106) in this New Aeon of Horus (September, 2010).[1] The Auguries received during the Ritual, and their Message, are set forth below.
The Word of the Equinox: “woman” from Chapter I, Verse 3 of Liber Legis (I:3).
It was noted on the Sanctuary’s website that this Scribe went into a Period of Silence immediately following the Vernal Equinox Ritual, 2010. During this Period, this Childe’s Eye was opened to new Magickal Formulae relating to the I/We Star and the Holy Fourth Order of the Great Order of the Universe which is called the Nos Astrum. This Scribe was moved back into Activity, just prior to the Autumnal Equinox to post to the Sanctuary’s website the Auguries from the Vernal Equinox, 2010 and a variant formula of the Rose Cross Ritual. The latter was prepared and posted to assist a group of Newly Minting Adepts in Accomplishing their Holy Work. From the receipt of the Word of the Autumnal Equinox, it was shown that the Mysteries of the Nos Astrum would be Revealed to the Children by these Auguries. In this context, let Us begin with an analysis of the Word.
First, let Us take notice of certain differences between Liber XXXI and Liber CCXX. Liber XXXI is the original manuscript of the Book of the Law written in the hand of Aleister Crowley. Liber CCXX is the typed version of the Book of the Law. In Liber XXXI, the verses of Chapter I, which is Nu’s Chapter, are unnumbered. This Speaks to the Nature of Nu, for She is unnumbered upon High. The verses of Chapter I in Liber CCXX are numbered, presumably for convenient reference. Here we see Magickal Formulae being revealed in the Structure of the Book of the Law.
Second, the first verse of Chapter 1 reveals great Magickal Formulae. It reads - “Had! The manifestation of Nuit.” It is important here to note the spells of “Had” and “Nuit”. “Had” is different than “Hadit”. “Had” is more primeval than “Hadit” and precedes Hadit. Compare Chapter I, verse 1 to Chapter II, verse 1 which reads – “Nu! the hiding of Hadit.” Once again, note the spellings of the Names. “Nu” is more primeval than “Nuit” and precedes Nuit. We now return to Chapter I, verse 2 which declares “The unveiling of the company of heaven.” And so it was and is!
Having taken notice of these purposeful differences, we now turn to Chapter I, verse 3 from which the Word was derived (from Liber XXXI during the Divination). This reads – “Every man and every woman is a star.” Although the Word was clearly selected during the Divination, the entire verse also was stressed as important to the Message of the Auguries.
We now speak to the Nature of the Chalice and the Blade, Spoken of in other papers issued by the Sanctuary, and the relations of the Holy Fourth and Third Orders.
The Chalice relates to Non-Being. The Blade relates to Being.
The Chalice may be referenced by the Expression 31/31 31, also written to form a pyramid with the Apex pointing down (as used above and in other papers previously issued by the Sanctuary).
The Blade may be referenced by the Expression 93 93/93, also written to form a pyramid with the apex pointing up (as used below and in other papers previously issued by the Sanctuary).
The Chalice precedes the Blade, and brings It into Creation.
The Chalice is attributable to Nu, who is Not. Thus the usage of the numbers 31 (the Key to the Book of the Law).
The Blade is attributable to Hadit, who is Being. Thus the usage of the numbers 93 relating to the Law of Thelema made manifest, Agape (Love), LGS/Logos (the Word) and LAShTAL (the Magickal Formulae of the Qabalistic Zero, which foreshadows what is to come).
In terms of the Magickal Formulae of the Work, We see the Work of Becoming (along the Royal Path of Initiation) to enter into Being expressed by an equation which equals 11. For example, the Formula of the Childe of Kether may be expressed by the equation 10=1. The Work of evolving from Being to Non-Being was initially beheld by the equation 0 = 0, which is a slight variant of the equation expressing the Work of the Childe of Earth (consider, in this regard, the placement of the circle and the square above each 0 in each equation when written in some other texts). However, this is the perspective of the Holy Third Order.
The Work of Non-Being as seen from the Holy Fourth may be expressed by the following equations and correspondences:
11 = 000 Nu Ain No-Thing The background of Non-Change.
11 = 00 Had Soph Limitless The unexpressed point – the prototype of all possibilities.
11 = 0 Nuit Aur Light The Circumference of the Circle which manifests Hadit (10=1).
From this, we see of a proof of II:1 - “Nu! the hiding of Hadit.” Nu precedes Hadit, as the Chalice precedes the Blade. It is Nu’s Love which is the Source of All of Creation, and the Loving Interaction of Nu and Had which are at the root of even the Expressions of Nuit and Hadit.
You are encouraged to investigate the gematria of the
Words “Ain”, “Soph” and “Aur”, singularly and in combination with each
other. To assist, consider the
following:
Ain = 61 = π, an infinite number. Other words with equal numerical value have
the following meanings: Master; Towards,
to Thee; I, My-Self; the belly (Womb); Wealth (of Mystery and possibility); and
habitaculum (meaning dwelling place, the Dwelling of Thy House).
Soph
= 146. Others words with equal numerical
value have the following meanings: First
Gate; the World/Universe.
Aur
= 207. Other words with equal numerical
value have the following meanings: Ain
Soph (from this, we behold the Ain Soph manifesting the Aur, yea Nu and Had
manifesting Nuit); Lord of the Universe; the Elders; the Crown of the

numerical value of Ain (61) reduces to 7.
The
numerical value of Soph (146) reduces 11.
The
numerical value of Aur (207) reduces to 9.
The
sum of 7 + 11 + 9 = 27 which corresponds to a word meaning Purity. The number 27 is also 3 x 3 x 3 showing the three-fold
nature of the Universe and Nu in extension as the Chalice.
The
number 27 reduces to 9, which corresponds to words meaning brother, a garment
and middle. The number 9 is also 3 + 3 +
3, or 3 x 3. All of this provides
insight into the “company of heaven”.
The Name of the Holy Fourth Order is the Nos Astrum which may be expressed as N·.·A.·.. The Name of the Holy Third Order is the Argentum Astrum, which may be expressed as A.·. A.·.. The Holy Fourth Order is Not (Non-Being) and manifests and moves the Holy Third Order. This is also beheld in the sequence of the Expression N·.·A.·..
Further considering the “unveiling of the company of heaven”, we now turn again to I:3 from which the Word of the Equinox was Divined. This reads - “Every man and every woman is a star.” This verse Expresses Truth. (Consider in this regard the Natal Crown and the Magickal Formulae discussed in the paper entitled the Ritual of the Crown.) We are all the Stars of Nu, Her Diadem illumining Her Womb. In this regard, consider the following information from Chapter I –
I:8 – The Khab (the star) is in the Khus (the magickal garment woven by a star to gain experience).
I:9 – Worship then the Khabs (the stars), and behold my light shed over you!
All of this shows the highest Magickal formulae of the Universe, and the True Workings of the Most High in the Process of Creation.
The Word “woman” from I:3 further elaborates on the Revelation. To analyze the Word in Hebrew gematria immediately poses an issue as there is no “w” in the Hebrew alphabet. Accordingly, the “w” is given a zero numerical value, immediately referring to the Qabalistic Zero and Non-Being. This being said, “woman” would have the following numerical values; w (0); o (Ayin - 70); m (Maim - 40); a (Aleph - 1); and n (Nun - 50/700). These total 161 or 811, depending on the value assigned to the “n”/final Nun. Considering the number 161, we find other words with equal numerical value meaning – the Congregation of the Eternal, and the heavenly, primordial, exalted man (the man is in the woman, Had in Nu). Considering the number 811, we find that this also is an expression of π, an infinite number. To conclude the analysis, we also considered the word “woman” in Hebrew, which is HIL = 48. Other words having equal numerical value mean mercy, strength, an army (Nu’s Army) and a star.
The word “Nos” is Latin means I/We. All evolves and is created from the Nos Astrum. Nu is at the root of the Nos Astrum, and We are of the Nos Astrum. Each of Us are a unique yet indivisible part of the whole. As Nu descends the Planes and incarnates a Childe of Earth, the Childe forgets the Childe’s starry heritage. (This is as a result of the Great Curse resulting in the Fall of Man.) However, by the Hand of Nu, the Childe’s Eye may be opened in the course of performing the Holy Work to what has been forgotten. This brings us to the Message of the remaining Auguries, which primarily address the Holy Work of the Second and First Orders in the Process of Becoming. (A little something for Everyone, yea for all of the Children of Nu. How wonderful and glorious is the Message of the Auguries! The Kisses of Nu rain hard upon Her Children who Love Her, and are of Her Love! Yea, Her Light sheds over Us.)
Tarot Card for the Equinox: The 7 of Wands (Valour).
This Card immediately brings the Eye down to the Yitziratic Tree of Life. The focus is on the important Work of evolving from the First to the Second Order. The small cards numbered with Sevens pertain to Netzach (Victory). Netzach corresponds to Venus (who is always Love). It also pertains to Earth due to its position on the Tree. The focus is on the animal will of a Childe, which must be tamed and spiritualized for the Childe to evolve into a Member of the Second Order. The Message speaks to how this may be assisted.
The Card is in the suit of Wands, attributable to elemental fire and Will. Being a 7, this Card is also attributed to the fixed Sign of Fire, which is Leo, and the third decan of Leo, which is Mars. Leo is always the Sun. Here we see an Expression of the Light of the Sun and the Mars force being applied to inspire the animal will of the Childe in the Holy Work.
The image of the Card shows two sets of the Wands of the Second Order - the Lotus Wand, Phoenix Wand and the Wand of the Chief Adepti. Each of these Wands is balanced against each other, highlighting the need to balance Love and Will to accomplish the Work at hand. Too much Will burns. The seventh wand is less evolved and lies on top of the other wands. This is the wand at issue in this Card. It is the evolving animal will of a Childe of the First Order. This must be cultivated, refined and placed in service as a spiritualized king of the Childe’s vessel, so the Childe’s entire being is placed in Service of Spirit and the Great Work. It is the initial “club” used in battle. It highlights the necessity to rightly focus the Eye at all times, to set the Pentagram aright in the Sphere of the Childe, so the Childe may evolve through the Veil of Paroketh and attain unto Tiphareth. The only choice you are given in this life as a Childe of Earth is how you use the animal will to focus the Eye. If you focus the Eye on Spirit and the Holy Guardian Angel, the Angels teacheth. If you focus the Eye otherwise, then the Pentagram will be averse within your Sphere and the demons shall teacheth. You choose. Rightly focusing the Eye as a Member of the First Order is not always easy. It requires individual acts of valour to proceed rightly along the Royal Path. This is necessary to break the Great Curse as applied to the Childe. These are the Ordeals of Initiation, which must be overcome. However, consider what lies ahead of you, and the promise of redemption (foreshadowed by the Rainbow of Promise or the Bow of QShTh) to all those Children who reverse the Great Curse.
On this issue, consider the changes in the starry structure of a Childe which occur when a Childe is Initiated as a Childe of Tiphareth in the “Inner”. The animal will of the Childe, yea the Sephiroth numbered 7, 8, 9 and 10 on the Yitziratic Tree of Life, are shed from the Childe’s being. The Childe then assumes the position of the Sun on the Heavenly Hexagram, and the Zodiacal belt is turned within the Sphere of the Childe so Leo (instead of Aries) is in the East. The Childe is admitted to the upper astral, also known as the Solar Plane, and has attained unto Tiphareth (assuming the Position of the Sun) and the Knowledge and Conversation of the Holy Guardian Angel, which shall be further evolved as a Member of the Second Order.
Working in the Knowledge and Conversation of the Holy Guardian Angel is a great gift. From moment to moment, you will be made aware of your duties, from simple tasks around your home to your role and duties as a Member of the Second Order. You are evolving to be something more than human. You are Becoming closer to Nu in a more evolved form.
A word referenced in relation to the gematria of the word “Ain” mentioned above – specifically corresponding to Nu - is the word “habitaculum”. This word has particular correspondence to the Shem-ha-mphorasch (the 72 Names of God), which govern the 36 small cards (numbered 2 through 10). Each of the Shem-ha-mphorasch are attributed to 5̊ of the Zodiac (72 x 5̊ = the 360º of the Circle). Nu is the Circle. From this, certain guidance is gleaned.
The habitaculum is the House of Nu. Nu is Venus in a lower aspect. Nu is Love, as Venus is Love. Netzach is Victory. To attain Victory and proceed along the Royal Path, the Eye must ever be focused on the Love of Nu (initially beheld as the Shekinah), and the habitation of Her House, which is the place where Honour dwelleth. You must be fearless in performing your Work and Holy Duties. You must have courage to conquer any fears by proactively confronting them at the seed level, and yank them out by the roots. You must remove them entirely from your Sphere, so the animal will may be tamed and placed in right service. Consider this guidance in all of your appointed roles. Ask how all that you are may be rightly evolved and placed in service of the Great Work. Consider your charges, i.e., those Children who are within your Sphere of Influence and/or under your care. Ask how can you nurture and support their magickal, spiritual and material evolution. Apply this attitude even towards your employment situation, to retain it and preserve your means of livelihood, all to assist you in performing and accomplishing what needs to be done to evolve. All must be spiritualized in your life.
Nu is also the Holy Guardian Angel
(“HGA”) in another aspect. She moves the
HGA. As shown by the correspondences of
the Card, the HGA is always ready to give Love, to help you in rightly focusing
the Eye at this stage of Becoming, and to otherwise aid and guard you in the
Work. The correspondences here also
point to those who have not received “news” or Inspiration for a long
time. The focus is on bringing exiles
back to their
The answer of the Oracles is always Love and Death (meaning Transformation/Initiation – not physical death).
You have the spiritual tools to attain to the Most High, and are encouraged to use them wisely and well. Your Angel always stands ready to show you the Way. You simply need to ask the right questions of your Angel, and listen for the answers. Ask and you shall receive. The answers will come. There will be a response. Then, once you receive guidance, you must have the courage to act upon the guidance you receive.
Nu = Woman = Venus, which is the ruler of Libra (the Solar Sign commencing the Air Tide). Justice, the balance of Love and Will, and the courage to rightly use the animal will to overcome obstacles is stressed. All must be taken in the context of the nature of these Auguries, which relate to the Air and Earth Tides, and the corresponding Glories of Liberty and Life. By adopting a right attitude, rightly focusing the Eye and proactively confronting ordeals (in whatever form), you will further your Initiation, so you may Become Truly Free and experience Divine Life in the Glory of your Angel.

The 30th Hexagram:
This Hexagram focuses the Eye on
the dependent nature of the Universe, and the Root thereof (the Nos
Astrum). By its structure, this Hexagram
shows a doubling of the trigram entitled Li/The Clinging. The trigram means to cling to something, or
to depend or rest on something. It also
refers to brightness. As an image, it
refers to Fire. Just as fire has no
definite form and clings to the burning object and is bright, so do the Gods
Express Themselves and Their Glories (of Light, Love,
We are moved by the Most High (no exceptions). The process is “top-down”, as the Arrow (Spoken of in other papers issued by the Sanctuary) truly points down. Everything that gives light is dependent on something to which it clings, in order that it may continue to shine. Unto Thee Nu!!! Here we see a connection to the Woman referenced in the Word of the Equinox. It is She who is the Source of All Life. All things depend upon Her. It is She who Expresses Her-Self in varying aspects through the Magickal Planes and in your human being.
Contemplate that Non-Being Creates Being, and Being expresses Its’ Self through the Planes, through the Gods, through the Arch-Angels, through the Choirs of Angels (including the HGA), and through the Children of Earth. The process of Initiation, which is Becoming, opens the Eye to the dependent nature of the Universe.
The Children of the First and Second Orders are dependent on the HGA. The manifestation of a Childe of Earth necessitates the creation of the HGA. In the context of the formula of the Tetragrammaton, the Childe is the Daughter and the HGA is the Son. Looking at the starry structure of a Childe, the Childe embodies the Microcosmic Tree of Life (i.e., the Little Tree). The Black Pillar of the Little Tree is the Daughter. The White Pillar of the Little Tree is the Angel. The Angel is part of the Childe, and has complete dominion over its client. This is a lesson taught on the Path of Tzaddi. All Members of the First and Second Order are dependent on their Angel, who in turn is dependent upon what moves It from Above. Spend some time contemplating this. Members of the First Order connect to the Divinity within by first focusing the Eye on Spirit. The perspective then evolves to focusing the Eye on the Angel. As the Knowledge and Conversation of the Angel is attained, it is further assimilated as a Member of the Second Order. The Sword of the Childe, yea the Power of Discrimination, is refined, honed and sharpened as Adepthood is perfected.
Eventually, the Angel sacrifices
itself for the further evolution of the Childe as a Member of the Holy Third
Order, as the Little Tree is shattered and even the Great Tree (which the
Childe temporarily embodies) is left at the Gates of Eden, so the Childe may
arise through the Supernal Triangle as part of the Body of God in the substance
of the Mother. The Childe/Daughter then
Becomes the Mother, and further evolves as the Scarlet Woman, and then the
The Universe is simple. There is Nu and Had. All flows from Them, is part of Them and is dependent on Them. Thus, We behold the simplicity of the Nos Astrum – the I/We Star.
This Hexagram stresses the importance of the Work of the First Order so the Children may evolve into the Second Order, and attain the Knowledge and Conversation of the HGA. The Angel will then provide clarity to the Childe as to the Nature of the Childe’s Great Work. This clarity is of a two-fold nature, as to the workings of heaven and as to the workings of man. Find the meaning of your life in the Great Work, and fulfill the purposes for which you are fitted to Serve God, the Secret Chiefs of the Great White Brotherhood and mankind.
Human life is unfree from birth. The Children of Earth are initially pinned to a Cross of Suffering. (This is as a result of the Great Curse.) Only when a Childe recognizes this and spiritualizes the Childe’s human being, may the Cross of Suffering turn to the Cross of Gold. When this occurs, the Childe’s Eye will be further opened to the dependent nature of the Universe and the Higher Planes through direct experience.
Rightly focus the Eye, and allow
the inner workings of the Universe to unfold and be revealed to you. In so doing, and rightly balancing your
Sphere every Step along the
6 in the
Put aside hopes and fears. They do not serve you. Focus on the Work and do it with courage, out of Love and Duty to the Most High. Adopting and maintaining the right attitude towards the Work and retaining clarity of mind will further success. Passing moods of holiness do not suffice. To attain to the Second Order, you must have a real change of heart and Be what you seek to Attain. Yea, let the Light of the Son/Sun shine through you!

This speaks to the Hierophantic tasks of making the ordeals to further Initiation, which sometimes appear as “Tough Love”. (This also corresponds to Venus as the ruler of Libra, which is sometimes referenced as having an “iron hand in a velvet glove”.) The purpose is not to punish but to create discipline and right focus of the Eye so Progress may be made. In this regard, you are encouraged to root out habits or actions which are contrary to your Initiatory goals, and tolerate those which are harmless. The focus is on right conduct. Take care to measure rightly. Balance Love and Will in all that you do, which requires constant Focus of the Eye to keep the Pentagram aright in the Sphere of the Childe.
The 49th Hexagram:
We change in the course of a
time. (Thank the Goddess!!!) From this, we behold the concepts of
“molting”, and Becoming something new.
As a Childe evolves, tendencies will conflict. Consider the image of the Angel wrestling
with its client. This type of conflict,
rightly viewed in the context of Initiation, produces healthy change, as the
Childe learns to listen to the Word of the Angel and abide thereby. Your Angel will inform you of your Great
Work, and show you purpose to your human life, day-by-day. Any concepts of remorse will then disappear,
as you learn to conduct yourself according to the Word of your Angel, which is
the
As Adepthood is perfected in the Work of the Childe of Chesed, even concepts of karma disappear, as the human life and past incarnations are transcended.
You must be free of selfish aims AND focus solely on your Holy Duties, which will encompass all of your appointed roles and charges. Only then will there by no thing to regret. Only then will you be set free in the Knowledge and Conversation of your Angel, and Experience True Liberty and Divine Life here on Earth.
You are encouraged to consider how these Auguries relate to your Great Work for the Air and Earth Tides.
Following the conclusion of the Equinox Ritual, the Calls were made of the 1st and 3rd Enochian Keys to commence the Great Work of the Air Tide and, more immediately, this Holy Period of Sol in Libra. Amen.
This paper shall be entered into the Teachings of the Sanctuary, due to the new subject matter addressed.
