Do what thou Wilt shall be the
whole of the Law.
Following this paper is a series of Invocations of some of the Gods which are regularly invoked in the Magickal Practices of the Sanctuary. This paper speaks to right use of the Invocations. You would do well to use these Invocations in your own magickal practices to aid your Work. Of course, you are encouraged to also prepare your own invocations, as an offering of love and devotion to the Gods.
Each Invocation is generally organized into four main sections, each with a varying number of sentences which corresponds with the Nature of the God’s Being.
The first section relates to Fire and the Atziluthic Plane. When speaking the words of this section, the Childe appeals to the God for aid in the Holy Work. This is done by projecting the words of the section into the Universe. When doing so, see the red fire of your projection emanating out through your Sphere in all directions as a call. It would be appropriate to make the Sign of Projection while reading the words of the first section (though this is unnecessary, especially in every instance of Invocation).
The second section relates to Water and the Briatic Plane. The call has been made. The Womb of the Goddess will respond. It is Her Nature to do so. Be assured, this will be the case. The Essence or Prana of the God is now received and concentrated in the Sphere. Feel the Essence of the God saturate your Sphere as a blue watery color. It would be appropriate to make the Sign of Silence while reading the words of the second section (if you made the Sign of Projection while reading the first section).
The third section relates to Air and the Yitziratic Plane. The process of receiving is complete. The Childe now recognizes the Unity of the God and the Childe within the Sphere of the Childe. See a yellow light. It would now be appropriate to assume the form of the God, as if the image of the God were superimposed over the Childe. Do this as best you can. The practice of assuming God forms will get easier over time, especially as you work with the God. You and the God are now one. Your Crowns are united. It would also be appropriate to make the Sign of Triumph while reading the words of the third section (if you are magickally signing during the Invocation).
The fourth section relates to Earth and the Assiatic Plane. The God now materializes in the body of the Childe. As this is occurring during the words of the Invocation, see a green light to foster the process. It would be appropriate to make the Sign of the Blazing Star while reading the words of the fourth section (if the other Magickal Signs described above have been made).
With the Eye rightly and intensely focused on the Great Work to be performed, the Spirit of the God will descend in the midst of the Invocation through the Magickal Planes to redeem, equilibrate and inform the elements of the Childe in a way to further the Great Work. In this way, the Childe will directly interact with the God, and come to know the God through direct experience.
If you are making the Magickal Signs as described above, at the conclusion of the Invocation, it would be appropriate to stand in the Sign of the Cross for a period of time to affirm the Unity of the Spirit of the God and Childe.
It will be recognized that the process of invocation employs the Formula of the Tetragrammaton (YHVH), which transforms into the Pentagrammaton (YHShVH) as Spirit descends in the midst.
It is of the utmost importance, prior to performing an Invocation, to clearly and succinctly formulate the purpose of the working in a manner which is consistent with the Great Work. It is also critical to the success of the working that the Eye remain focused on the Great Work to be accomplished until concluded.
The God and Childe will Work as one for the appointed time. When it is time for the Childe to regain “normal” consciousness, the Childe will be prompted to give a license to depart or it will simply happen. In all cases, the Childe should give thanks for the experience (regardless of the perceived outcome at the time), and praise the Holy Name of the God, with a reverent, devoted and loving heart.
Invocations
have a transforming effect on a Childe.
After performing an Invocation and completing the working, you are encouraged
to examine your internal and external experiences during the working and what
follows thereafter. A great deal is
learned and experienced outside of the
Speak and praise the Holy Names of God, worship and call upon Them, and be healed thereby. Amen.
Love is the Law, Love under Will.
