Do what thou Wilt shall be the whole of the Law.

The Magick Weapons are not weapons in the traditional sense.  They are not used to hurt.  They are used to assist your magickal, spiritual and material evolution.  They are to be repeatedly purified and consecrated to the Great Work during each Stage of Initiation to assist and further your Initiation.  We review in this paper the Magickal Weapons applicable to the Work of the Childe during the Course of Evolution.

Some General Aids

You are encouraged to wear a piece of jewelry, perhaps a necklace or a ring (or both), at all times to always remind you of the Great Work, which is always in progress whether you are in or outside of your physical temple.  Your Magickal Jewelry may change, multiple times, during the course of your Initiation.  Wearing Magickal Jewelry is a form of practicing bhakti or devotion to the Great Work.

Similarly, maintaining a Holy Altar in your home outside of the physical temple, and regularly burning incense and candles in your home (on the Altar or elsewhere), is strongly encouraged.  They serve as reminders.  Further, doing so is a way of giving thanks for the many blessings you receive during the Initiation process.  They are manifest symbols of your Love and Devotion to Great Work, which are truly the only acceptable offerings to the Most High.

The Childe of Earth

You, Childe, are the Magickal Weapon purified and consecrated at this Stage of Beginning.  By undertaking the Work, you begin to learn how to rightly focus the Eye on Divine Love, which shall be your True Guide and Mentor on the Way of Return.  Your Magick Oath as a Childe of Earth formally commences the process.  Learning basic ritual practices of how to purify and consecrate your vessel is the substance of the Work.  You are the “thing” to be purified and consecrated.  You, ultimately, are the subject of your Great Work.  Your evolution is the initial focus of Initiation.  During the course, you will evolve as a Source of Light and Love to others.  As you Heal, you will assist others in Healing.

The Childe of Malkuth

The Pantacle is the Magickal Weapon of the Childe of Malkuth.  This is a symbol of your physical sense of touch and your body, which is a Holy Vessel for Spirit.  It also is a symbol of the Element of Earth.  Make your Pantacle, as simple or as complex as you are so moved.  Consider other guidance available on the subject, as with the construction of all of the other Magickal Weapons discussed below.  Your Pantacle may be as simple as a drawing on a piece of paper.  You may, in the course of your Work, acquire a “piece” to be used in your physical temple for ceremonial practice.  However, you are encouraged to make a Pantacle, as the process of making assists in the Eye opening to the corresponding Mysteries.  Know that you are fully equipped to perform and accomplish the Great Work, without the need for any things.  It is unnecessary to acquire expensive “pieces” to be used in your physical temple.  Magickal Tools or Weapons made by your own hand are best.  They are symbols of your Love and Devotion to the Great Work.  You may find that, even things put together rather quickly and imperfectly when so moved to do so, can serve you ever so rightly in the Work.

The Childe of Yesod

The Dagger is the Magickal Weapon of the Childe of Yesod.  This is a Symbol of your physical sense of smell, and the element of Air.  Any dagger or blade may be consecrated to the Great Work for this purpose.  You may find that you have been equipped with your Magickal Dagger for some time.  Adorn it as you deem fit, with corresponding symbols (or don’t). The repeated purification and consecration, and use, of your Dagger during the course of your Work as a Childe of Yesod will assist in the purification and consecration your sense of smell, and assist you in gaining control of this elemental aspect of your Being.

The Childe of Hod

The Cup is the Magickal Weapon of the Childe of Hod.  This is a Symbol of your thoughts and emotions, as well as the physical sense of taste and the element of Water.  Any Cup may be used.  As this Weapon, in particular, has correspondence to the Goddess, may it be a beautiful symbol to you.  Brass in particular is recommended, if possible, as its composition has correspondence with the Work.  Silver also is very much appropriate.  However, any cup will do.   It is not the thing itself, but the corresponding aspects of your own Being which are being purified and consecrated in its use.

The Childe of Netzach

The Wand is the Magickal Weapon of the Childe of Netzach.  This is a symbol of your lower will, as well as the physical sense of sight and the element of Fire.  This is an important Weapon, which you may make or acquire.  A simple stick cut by your own hand will suffice.  If you do so, consider cutting the Wand on a Day of Mercury, before sunrise from a wood traditionally used for wands.  The purification and consecration of your Magick Wand is a symbol of Crowning your prior Work.  At this stage of evolution, you are taking control of the animal within (your body, your automatic consciousness, your thoughts and emotions and your lower will) and placing it wholly in service of the Great Work.  Enjoy the process of doing so.  It assists in bringing health and Healing.

The Dominis Liminis

There is no Magickal Weapon for the Dominis Liminis, whose work is to realize what even moves the physical senses symbolized by the Pantacle, the Dagger, the Cup and the Wand.  The Sphere of the Dominis Liminis must be rightly ordered on an elemental basis, wholly purified and consecrated to the Great Work, and perfectly balanced for the consciousness of the Childe to be elevated above the Spheres normally experienced by man.  Only in this way may the Dominis Liminis cross the Little Abyss, which is the Veil of Paroketh, and attain unto the Second Order and Tiphareth.

The Childe of Tiphareth

There are five Weapons for the Childe of Tiphareth.  First, there is the Lotus Wand traditionally associated with this Work.  The Wand itself does not need to be made or acquired.  However, the Work associated with the Wand is important.  This involves formulating the Zodiacal Belt within your Sphere, with Aries initially in the east, and consecrating your Sphere to each Zodiacal aspect or Sign.  Take note of the colors of each band on the Lotus Wand, and formulate the Zodiacal Belt in the corresponding colors.  See the Symbols of the Zodiacal Signs impressed upon the corresponding colors in their right place.  This will assist you in realizing the Natal Crown which you wear.

Second, there is the Lamen, which is a symbol of your Being consecrated to this new stage of the Work.  This may be drawn or made, and then worn over the heart or where Tiphareth would be on an embodied Tree of Life during its purification and consecration.  If made on paper, it may be consumed as part of your consecration rite.

Third, there is the Chain, which is the Magickal Weapon corresponding with Alchemical Salt.  It is approximately six feet in length, and is wrapped around the head of the Childe at the forehead with the tails of the Chain crossing in back and then briefly pulled tight to the sides (not to hurt).  This is used to purify the Childe’s vessel, and particularly the mind, and assists the Childe in coming to work with this Form of Energy.

Fourth, there is the Scourge, which is the Magickal Weapon corresponding with Alchemical Sulphur.  This may be made or acquired as you are so moved.  This is used to purge the Childe’s vessel of impurities (without hurting or marking the body in any way), and assists the Childe in coming to work with this Form of Energy.

Fifth, there is the Dagger, which is the Magickal Weapon corresponding with Alchemical Mercury.  The Air Dagger may also be used as this Weapon, serving “double duty”.  This is used to extract the Purified Mercury, and balance the other Forms of Energy (Alchemical Salt and Sulphur) so that the Triangles of the Hexagram may be rightly formulated within the Sphere of the Childe.

The Childe’s Elemental Weapons (the Pantacle, the Dagger, the Cup and the Wand) must also be consecrated again to this stage of the Work.

The Childe of Geburah

There are two Weapons for the Childe of Geburah.  First, there is the Phoenix Wand traditionally associated with this Work.  This Wand also does not need to be made or acquired.  However, the Work associated with the Wand, and its symbolism, is important.  The Phoenix Wand is a symbol of directed Will.  The Eyes of the Phoenix are directed to the Work at hand.  The Wand is held in the passive hand (not active hand) as the Wand is not used to trace any symbols.  Rather, the Work is accomplished solely by projection without physical movement.  Although the Wand has correspondence to the Hexagram, the Hexagram referenced is the Heavenly Hexagram which corresponds to the upper Solar Plane (described in other papers issued by the Sanctuary).

The Second Weapon is the Magick Sword.  This is a symbol of Spirit and Mars.  This is purified and consecrated to the Great Work of the Childe to do True Will, and only True Will.  The Childe is equipped with the Knowledge and Conversation of His Holy Guardian Angel and the Might to overcome the obstacles necessary to Walk in the Way of True Will, and do that which must be done.  The Childe truly becomes a Soldier of the Great Work.  This stage represents the Great Initiation in this New Aeon of Horus.

The Childe of Chesed

There are no Magickal Weapons associated with the Work of the Childe of Chesed in the Sanctuary’s System of Initiation.  A Jupiter Talisman is to be made and consecrated by the Childe of Chesed, to assist with the purification and consecration of the Childe to Love and prepare the Childe for the Work to come.

The Elemental Weapons of the Childe are to be consecrated again, but to this stage of the Work and according to the Elemental Formula of the upper Planes which the Childe has come to experience in the course of the Work.

The Holy Third Order

There are no Magickal Weapons corresponding with the Work of the Holy Third Order.  The Crown Wand is a Symbol of the Work of the Third Order, as those of the Third Order are but aspects of the Most High who truly Rule the Universe.  The Cup of Babalon the Beautiful, the Urn of the All-Father, and the Flaming Sword and the Caduceus are symbols of the Work of the Most High. These are not physical things. They exist purely in Spiritual form.

Rites to Purify and Consecrate your Magickal Weapons

The approach of the Sanctuary’s System of Initiation is to provide Formulae for Initiation, to show the Way and tender the true “keys” to the Initiation process.  Use them wisely and well.  Study the other papers issued by the Sanctuary, focusing particularly on what is said concerning the aspect of the Work you have undertaken.  Consider all pertinent symbolism, learn the corresponding Holy Names, and construct rituals using them as you deem fit to perform and accomplish the Work at hand.  By dispensing with some of the pomp and verbosity traditionally associated with rites of “old”, you will be able to construct succinct and effective rites to perform and accomplish the Work in a way which is healthy and balanced, and most fitting for you.

Love is the Law, Love under Will.
