Do what thou Wilt shall be the whole of the Law.

With the Creative Imagination and the Creative Will, we comprehend the Sphere. It is through the combination of the Creative Will and the Creative Imagination, under the Guide of the Holy One, that we practice True Magick.

Once you visualize the Sphere, the next practice to learn is how to purify and consecrate your Sphere (and all within). These practices are of the utmost importance.

We purify with Water and consecrate with Fire.

Without overly complicating what can be simple, prepare an altar in the center of the place you will be working. The altar should face east, so you will need to determine which directions are due east, south, west and north based on the location of your altar. The altar can be a small piece of black or white cloth which you place on the ground, or can be a small table (covered with a cloth or not). Your altar will evolve over time, but this will more than suffice at the inception of your magickal practice.

Place on your altar a white candle of any size, a small cup of water and a stick incense of your choosing (with an appropriate holder for the incense). Light the candle and visualize your Sphere around you.

To purify your Sphere, take up the cup of water, and breathe on the water. The breathing on the water is a magickal act, placing it in action for the Holy Work to be performed. Now move to the eastern perimeter of your Sphere, trace a cross in the air with the cup, dip a few fingers in the water and sprinkle the water three times in the center of the cross. Proceed to move around the perimeter of your Sphere to the south still holding the cup of water, trace a cross again in the air and sprinkle some water three times in the center of the cross. Continue to move around the perimeter of your circle to the west, doing the same thing, and then to the north also doing the same thing. Now continue around the perimeter of your Sphere back to the east to close the circle. Move to the center of your Sphere behind your altar which is facing east (so you are also facing east). Dip your thumb in the water and trace a small cross with your wet thumb on the center of your forehead so the bottom bar of the cross extends down between your eye brows. Hold the cup of water upon high with both hands and say:

I purify with the Holy Water.

When you say this, visualize a blue light swirling about your entire Sphere. When done, place the cup of water back down on your altar.

To consecrate your Sphere, take up the incense stick and rub your fingers up and down the stick a few times feeling energy flow into the incense from the friction. This rubbing is also a magickal act to place the incense in action for the Holy Work to be performed. Light the incense from the candle on your altar. Now move to the eastern perimeter of your Sphere, trace a cross in the air with the incense stick and wave the incense stick three times through the center of the Cross. Proceed to move around the perimeter of your Sphere to the south still holding the incense stick, trace a cross again in the air and wave the incense stick three times through center of the cross. Continue to move around the perimeter of your circle to the west, doing the same thing, and then to the north also doing the same thing. Now continue around the perimeter of your Sphere back to the east to close the circle. Move to the center of your Sphere behind your altar so you are also facing east. Trace a small cross with the incense stick before your forehead so the bottom bar of the cross extends down between your eye brows. Hold the incense stick upon high with both hands and say:

I consecrate with the Holy Fire.

When you say this, visualize a red light swirling about your entire Sphere. When this is done, place the incense back in its holder on your altar.

Now take some time to meditate in the center of your Sphere on the magickal acts you just performed, the reason for the acts and on the nature and powers of your Sphere.

The purification and consecration of your Sphere may also be performed without any physical water or incense, by simply visualizing yourself performing the acts.

When you are done with your working, simply take a deep cleansing breath while standing in the center of your Sphere (facing east) with the intention of concluding the working, and proceed on with whatever you are to do.

These practices will evolve as you and your magickal practice evolves. They are further addressed in other papers issued by the Sanctuary.
