Do what thou Wilt shall be the whole of the Law.

Initiation comes from within.  It involves right focus of the Eye.  Your Initiator abides within.  No one else is needed.  You simply need to look to your God for initiation, ask for it, and it will come.

The Oaths of Initiation are given to assist you in focusing your aspiration, and asserting and affirming your will.  Once taken, they are to be reviewed regularly, to remind you of the Great Work which has been undertaken.

The process is simple.  Construct your own rites to accomplish the task.  Allow yourself to be moved in the Great Work, and you will be so moved.

The formula is as follows:

1.         Open the Temple, and purify and consecrate it, as you know how.

2.         Read the Oath of Initiation for the Sephira to be taken.  If you are moved to take the Oath, sign and seal it as you know how.

            3.         Consecrate the elements and, most importantly, the Spirit of your being to the Great Work you are undertaking.  This is done using the Pentagram.  You organize your Sphere on an elemental basis according to the formula of the Plane on which you are working.  See the elements rightly organized about you in your Sphere.  Then purify and consecrate them, one by one, to your new Great Work.  Begin with Fire, then Water, then Air, then Earth and then Spirit.  Then, facing the direction appropriate to the Plane on which you are working, trace the appropriate Pentagram on your body.  These are as follows:

Childe of Malkuth

Microcosmic Earth Pentagram

Childe of Yesod

Microcosmic Air Pentagram

Childe of Hod

Microcosmic Water Pentagram

Childe of Netzach

Microcosmic Fire Pentagram

Dominis Liminis

Microcosmic Spirit Pentagrams

(Active and then Passive)

Childe of Tiphareth

Macrocosmic Air Pentagram

Childe of Geburah

Macrocosmic Fire Pentagram

Childe of Chesed

Macrocosmic Water Pentagram

Childe of Binah

Macrocosmic Water Pentagram

Childe of Chokmah

Macrocosmic Fire Pentagram

Childe of Kether

Macrocosmic Air Pentagram

Note that the human body is itself in the shape of the Pentagram.  Consider then the points of each Pentagram as follows.

For a Microcosmic Pentagram:

·        The Spirit point extends up the neck and terminates in the Ajna Chakra, which is the Eye between the eyebrows.

·        The Air point extends over the right shoulder.

·        The Water point extends over the left shoulder.

·        The Earth point extends down the right thigh.

·        The Fire point extends down the left thigh.

For a Macrocosmic Pentagram:

·        The Spirit point extends up from the head and terminates in the Brahmarandhra Chakra.

·        The Air point extends over the left ear.

·        The Water point extends over the right ear.

·        The Earth point extends through the left shoulder.

·        The Fire point extends through right shoulder.

The appropriate Pentagram may be traced by beginning at the appropriate point of the Pentagram and tracing the Holy Cross of the Crown on that point, and then moving to the next point, doing the same thing, until the Pentagram is completed by ending on the point of the Pentagram on which you began.

When tracing the Holy Cross of the Crown on each point of the Pentagram, it is suggested that you do so using the thumb in the Sign of Benediction (thumb between the index and middle fingers).  The Holy Cross of the Crown is traced by tracing the top vertical bar of the Cross down to the center point, then tracing the left hand bar of the Cross and back to the center point, then tracing the right hand bar of the Cross and back to the center point (thus forming the Holy Tau of the Supernals), and then tracing the lower vertical bar of the Cross down and back to the center point.  Once this is done, is suggest that you trace a circle around the Cross beginning and ending on the top vertical bar, showing the Unity of All in Spirit.

You may use some Holy Oil to trace the Pentagram and the Crosses touching your body.  This may Abramelin Oil.  Alternatively, some virgin Olive Oil (which is a symbol of Wisdom and the Holy Spirit) will more than suffice.

After you trace the Pentagram on your body, speak the Holy Names (which is the Divine Hierarchy) attributed to the element which you know.  These are given in other papers issued by the Sanctuary.

            4.         Consecrate yourself to the Divinity within according to the perspective you seek to attain.  This is done using the Hexagram.  Face the direction appropriate to the Plane on which you are working, and trace the appropriate Hexagram before you.  These are as follows:

Childe of Malkuth

Earth Hexagram

Childe of Yesod

Yitziratic Moon Hexagram

Childe of Hod

Yitziratic Mercury Hexagram

Childe of Netzach

Yitziratic Venus Hexagram

Dominis Liminis

Unicursal Hexagram of the Sun

Childe of Tiphareth

Yitziratic Sun Hexagram

Childe of Geburah

Yitziratic Mars Hexagram

The appropriate Hexagrams should be traced in proper colors as given in the Table appended to the Scroll of the Ritual of the Stars and the Guide to the Oaths of Initiation.

After tracing the appropriate Hexagram, speak the Holy Names (which is the Divine Hierarchy) attributed to the Sephira which you know.  These are also given in other papers issued by the Sanctuary.

To clarify matters, it should here be noted that the Heavenly Hexagram will appear to the Childe of Geburah as initiation evolves.  The Heavenly Hexagram is not traced, but appears as a projection of Will.  Similarly, the Star Ruby, which is a special Pentagram given to the Childe of Geburah, is not traced but is projected by Will.

The Star Sapphire is a special Hexagram given to the Childe of Chesed.  This also is not traced but is projected by Will.

Eventually, the Heavenly Hexagram will reduce down to the Supernal Triangle for the Childe of Binah.  As the Childe further evolves, the Childe will be moved to the first square (the square of the One) on the Tau forming the Ancient Holy Tree in Kether, named Ygdrasil.  The Plane will then formulate as the Ateph Crown from which the Childe of Chokmah will work and derive His Wisdom.

5.         Awaken the corresponding Chakra into life.  This is done by striking the Chakra the number of times corresponding with the number of the Sephira which is the subject of the initiation.  As you do so, see the Chakra “flip over” so it is right side up.  (The Chakras are upside down until stirred to life.)  Strongly visualize the Kundalini rising up the Nadi Sushumna and undulating through each leaf of the Chakra which appears as a Lotus.  As you do so, chant first the Bija of the Chakra the number of times corresponding to the number of the Sephira which is the subject of the initiation, and then the mantra of the Chakra.  The Bijas and Mantras of the Chakras are given below:

You will note that the Svadishthana and Manipura Chakras are addressed twice during the initiation process.  According to Yoga Science, the Anahata (heart) Chakra is the demarcation between the animal consciousness and the Divine consciousness.  Accordingly, once the Childe has evolved to higher states of initiation, these Chakras are addressed again and are consecrated to the Work from the higher perspective.

It should be noted as a point of clarification that the Nadi Sushumna begins at the base of the Muladhara Chakra and ends in the Ajna Chakra.  Further, the mantra of the Brahmarandhra Chakra is something we continually express all through our lives in the sound of the Breath – Ham (inhalation – involution), Sa (exhalation – evolution).  Amen.

6.         Pray for the initiation you seek.  Praise and adore the Holy Names spoken in your Rite.

7.         Take a Eucharist of the magickal power raised in your Holy Rite of Initiation, as a Sacrament and Magickal Link for the performance and accomplishment of the Great Work you have undertaken.

8.         Purify and consecrate the Temple once again, and close it, as you know how.

May this ever so brief paper assist you on the Way of Return; yea, verily to the Glory of God.  Amen.

Love is the Law, Love under Will.
