Do what thou Wilt shall be the whole of the Law.

The teachings of the Sanctuary focus on (among many other things) the formulae of your Sphere. Certain formulae must be learned and used by the newcomer to the practice of magick and others are used by the most evolved practitioners. We see a discussion of magickal formulae beginning in the “Scroll of the Ritual of the Stars”, which gives instruction to the newcomer who is beginning the Journey on the Royal Road of Initiation, through “The Daily Conjurations” that provides instruction of a most exalted nature.

Your Sphere is akin to a Ball of Light which completely surrounds you. It forms your True Magick Circle, but is all encompassing. In the many books on magick handed down throughout the ages, we see a discussion of the magick circle and how it should be organized for particular types of workings or experiments. The organization proposed is addressing the formulae of the circle, which is a proxy for your Sphere. Consider then the formulae being offered in each case, extrapolate it and contemplate how to work with the formulae to attain certain results.

Certain basics must be learned by the newcomer to bring right organization to your Sphere. This will assist in exalting your consciousness to higher magickal planes. The various magickal planes have their own specific laws and formulae. These must be learned and used to experience the corresponding energies and learn about the corresponding mysteries.

To be skeptical is healthy. The practice of the Royal Art and Science of Magick is the practice of the hermetic sciences. The practitioner engages in workings or experiments to learn and evolve magickally and spiritually. You begin by visualizing your Sphere, which is always around you. You then learn of the nature and powers of your Sphere through the various magickal formulae.

You are a beautiful Star Childe. You are encouraged to experiment with the various formulae given in the other papers of the Sanctuary, with the various Pentagrams and Hexagrams, and with the various rituals, meditations and other visualizations, and draw your own conclusions. We learn most fully through our own direct experiences.
